We started Barestreep to create the perfect shirt anchored by the iconic graphic - the streep i.e. stripe. We love stripes, they are simple, timeless, chic and give us a sense of order in this chaotic word.
Founded on the belief that great design transcends gender, Barestreep marries the timeless elegance of menswear with the dynamic spirit of modern women. Inspired by the classic tailoring and meticulous craftsmanship of traditional men’s shirts, we set out to create a line that empowers women to embrace both their femininity and their strength.

Our Founder
Ruchika, a former sales head at leading tech companies in India, founded Barestreep out of her love for shirts. Her wardrobe was packed with shirts she wore everywhere—from work meetings to weekend outings, casual errands, and even parties. “I noticed a gap in the Indian market every time I went shopping for shirts,” she shares. “High-quality, affordable options with patterns like stripes and plaids—commonly found in men’s collections—were missing in women’s sections. Women’s shirts were often fitted and floral, lacking the versatility I was looking for. The options were either mass-market brands with compromised quality or designer labels that weren’t budget-friendly. That’s when Barestreep was born.”
